bianca PéREZ DUNN

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am an artist fascinated with mixed identities and the spaces where they meet. I pull from my Mexican and Chinese heritage, science background, and identity as a queer artist to inform my work. My art aims to explore opposites, extremes, and grey areas in surreal and symbolic ways. I am guided by color, graphic shape, and playful composition. I use a variety of media to experiment, focusing primarily in collage, science illustration, painting, and immersive installation. I also host collage workshops, where people can discover collage and experiment with artmaking. In everything I create, I work to emphasize the importance of fluidity, ambiguity, and accessibility.
